Leprosy hotspots over two decades

Drawing on a 20-year cohort study and over 20,000 cases across four high-endemic districts of northwest Bangladesh, we mapped the geospatial epidemiology of leprosy.

We identified persistent hotspots, often in densely populated areas, despite an overall decrease in incidence — showing where targeted prevention remains most needed.
